DIY: Pom Poms (Part II)

10:33:00 AM

Now to put all the poms poms we made from the last post to good use. While you can use pom poms in everything imaginable, I am going to show you 5 ways to use pom poms and it does not involve being a cheerleader. Ha ha!

1. POM POM SANDALS

Pom pom sandals are a rage now. Instead of buying a pair, transform your old kolhapuris or any strappy sandals with pom poms. All you need is a good glue to ensure the pom pom stays in place.

2. EARRINGS

Take a pair of hoops and insert as many pom poms in it. TADA! I've kept it simple with one pom pom each for work.

3. BOOKMARKS

Instead of ugly boarding passes as bookmarks, use pom pom bookmarks! They're easy and cute. While making the pom pom, be sure to keep the strand of wool used to tie a knot to keep all the yarn in place a little long.

You could also take a cardboard, wrap wool around it and put a pom pom over its head.

4. HOME DECOR: POM POM GARLAND

This one is my favourite. Make as many pom poms as you can. Take a needle and wool and keep inserting the pom poms to make a garland. Hang it on your window. Perfect!

5. KEY RINGS

This is as easy as the bookmark. Just like we did with the bookmark, keep the strand of wool used to tie a knot to keep all the yarn in place a little long. Tie 2-3 poms poms together and voila! We have a key ring.

Do let me know what are your favourite pom pom accessories to make. I could do with some more pom poms.
