Trend Alert: Sleeveless Blazer

When you live in a tropical country, any trend with the word sleeveless is a saviour. So when sleeveless blazers became huge this season, I knew I was going to be trying this trend. Also, they make for the best layering pieces, tucking away all the flab perfectly. Yes, that is mostly why I love layering.

I found a New Look sleeveless blazer on sale in Jabong and for weeks, I kept adding it to my cart, saving it in my wishlist and adding it back to the cart till I decided I couldn't buy it without trying it on. I was afraid it'd look like a doctor's coat on me. Then came the Forever 21 Flat 60% sale and this beauty. There was one piece left and in my size. You know that's always a sign to buy it! I think it was the universe's reward to me for waking up at 5 am to shop.

I've kept the outfit simple and casual - statement top, ripped denim and blazer - and added a bit of metallic and colour with the bag and shoes. I've already thought of so many ways to style this piece that I may just do a one blazer five ways post. My personal style has gravitated towards edgy, norm core and monochrome from girly, cutesy and a riot of colours. Two years ago, I would have cringed at the thought of an outfit with no colour and look at me today, rocking monochrome like a boss or so I hope!
